Welkom in de Redactieruimte Wikinieuws is zowel een nieuwsbron als een wikigemeenschap. Dit is de redactieruimte waar over allerlei hoofd- en bijzaken gesproken kan worden en werk gecoördineerd wordt. Help ons een naam te kiezen voor Abstract Wikipedia

Hallo! Help ons alsjeblieft een naam te kiezen voor het nieuwe wikiproject Abstract Wikipedia. Dit project wordt een wiki waar gebruikers functies van Wikifuncties en gegevens van Wikidata kunnen combineren om zinnen te genereren in alle ondersteunde talen. Deze zinnen kunnen vervolgens worden gebruikt door elke Wikipedia (of elders).

Er zullen twee stemrondes zijn, elk gevolgd door een juridische beoordeling van de kandidaten. De stemmingen beginnen op 20 oktober en 17 november 2025. Ons doel is om medio december 2025 een definitieve projectnaam te kiezen. Als je wilt deelnemen, klik dan hier voor meer informatie en stem nu op meta-wiki. Bedankt!

Each year, typically from October through December, several of the movement’s committees seek new volunteers.

Results of the consultation about Wikispore and Wikinews

Hey everyone,

The Sister Project Task Force ran a consultation on the future of Wikinews and Wikispore, as well as to understand how to best create structures for how to start and close Wikimedia projects, between 26 June and 15 August. Their recommendations to the Community Affairs Committee of the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees have now been published on Meta-Wiki.

In summary, the task force recommends to:

• Keep the current Wikispore’s technical setup, as it is functioning and supports ongoing experimentation; and explore options for closer alignment with the Incubator.
• Plan for the archival of all editions of Wikinews, and support the exploration of new paradigms for Wikimedia news content by community members.

The next step is for the Board of Trustees to discuss the consultation and the recommendations coming out of it, and take a decision.

The Wikimedia communities are obviously free to discuss this wherever they want, but we want to encourage the discussion to take place on the Meta talk page, in order for the Wikimedia movement to have more of a coordinated discussion. You can post in your language.

Ik heb hier vanavond nog even een nieuwe reactie geplaatst, op Meta had ik dit al eerder gedaan.

Overigens @Ymnes: begrijp ik niet echt waarom je in juni [...] as it quickly comes into conflict with the "No original research" policy op Meta hebt aangevoerd als een van de argumenten ten faveure van sluiting - OO is op Wikipedia van belang, maar niet hier, of iig in veel mindere mate. Iig is het hier zeker niet zomaar vergelijkbaar met die richtlijn op Wikipedia; integendeel, dat is nou juist een van de dingen bij uitstek die dit project onderscheidend maakt/maakte. Anderen gaven dat hier bijvoorbeeld ook al aan. Hier zelfs nog wat duidelijker:meta:Talk:Public consultation about Wikinews#Focus on original content? ). Jammer trouwens ook wel dat die reactie van je op Meta me nú pas opvalt, nu de kogel al min of meer door de kerk is. De Wikischim (overleg) 15 dec 2025 00:56 (CET)

Annual review of the Universal Code of Conduct and Enforcement Guidelines

I am writing to you to let you know the annual review period for the Universal Code of Conduct and Enforcement Guidelines is open now. You can make suggestions for changes through 9 February 2026. The Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) is a global group dedicated to providing an equitable and consistent implementation of the UCoC. This annual review was planned and implemented by the U4C. For more information and the responsibilities of the U4C, you may review the U4C Charter.
