</p><p><a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jozef_De_Kesel" class="extiw" title="w:Jozef De Kesel">Jozef De Kesel</a>, <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lijst_van_aartsbisschoppen_van_Mechelen-Brussel" class="extiw" title="w:Lijst van aartsbisschoppen van Mechelen-Brussel">aartsbisschop van Mechelen-Brussel</a> en als kardinaal lid van de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romeinse_Curie" class="extiw" title="w:Romeinse Curie">Romeinse Curie</a>, wil dat homo's, lesbiennes en biseksuelen voortaan ingezegend kunnen worden in de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rooms-Katholieke_Kerk" class="extiw" title="w:Rooms-Katholieke Kerk">katholieke kerk</a>, waardoor er vanuit de kerk erkenning wordt getoond en een dankviering wordt gehouden. Hij ziet het als een alternatief voor een huwelijk. Een <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Homohuwelijk" title="Categorie:Homohuwelijk">homohuwelijk</a> in de kerk gaat de bisschop echter te ver.
</p><p>In gesprek met <a href="/wiki/Categorie:LGBTI" title="Categorie:LGBTI">lgbt</a>-vertegenwoordigers zei hij: "De Rooms-Katholieke Kerk moet homoseksuelen en lesbiennes meer respecteren, ook in hun seksualiteitsbeleving." In het <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Vaticaanstad" title="Categorie:Vaticaanstad">Vaticaan</a> wordt nog niet zo progressief gereageerd. Daar heerst de leer dat homoseksuelen geen seksuele gemeenschap mogen hebben. Volgens De Kesel zou die stellingname niet vol te houden zijn. Het staat volgens hem ook in contrast met de woorden die <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Paus_Franciscus" title="Categorie:Paus Franciscus">paus Franciscus</a> laatst sprak: "Wie ben ik om mensen die God zoeken te veroordelen?"

Solé is de organist van het <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Vaticaanstad" title="Categorie:Vaticaanstad">Vaticaan</a> en is <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Cataloni%C3%AB" title="Categorie:Catalonië">Catalaan</a> van geboorte. Het <i>Festival d’orgue</i> kent hierna nog vier speeldagen en vindt dit jaar plaats tot 10 juni. Tijdens het festival wordt er op verschillende historische orgels op verschillende locaties in de stad gespeeld.
</p><p>Twee concerten worden gegeven in de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sint-Albanuskathedraal" class="extiw" title="w:Sint-Albanuskathedraal">Sint-Albanuskathedraal</a>. Hier staat het grootste symfonische orgel van <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Walloni%C3%AB" title="Categorie:Wallonië">Wallonië</a>, met 65 registers die en 5000 buizen. Wilhelm Korfmacher begon aan de bouw in 1844 en werkte er vijf jaar aan. Het eerste van de twee concerten vindt plaats op 6 mei, met werken door de titularis van dit orgel, Emmanuel Clacens. Het tweede staat gepland voor 3 juni en wordt uitgevoerd door Thierry Escaich. Escaich bouwde een naam van formaat op en componeerde voor orkesten als het <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_Orchestra" class="extiw" title="w:Philadelphia Orchestra">Philadelphia Orchestra</a>.
</p><p>Tussendoor is er op 20 mei een concert in de parochiekerk Sainte-Julienne in het stadsdeel <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salzinnes" class="extiw" title="w:Salzinnes">Salzinnes</a>. Het concert wordt gegeven door David Cassan die verbonden is aan het conservatorium van Nancy (<a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/fr:Conservatoire_de_Nancy" class="extiw" title="w:fr:Conservatoire de Nancy">fr</a>) <span style="color:blue;font-family:monospace;font-weight:bold;font-size:90%;cursor:help;" title="Taal :">(fr)</span>. Hij is vertolker van de muziek van <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johann_Sebastian_Bach" class="extiw" title="w:Johann Sebastian Bach">Johann Sebastian Bach</a> en Franse componisten uit de 19e en 20e eeuw.
</p><p>Een ander historisch orgel dat bespeeld wordt tijdens het festival, staat in de kapel van het <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coll%C3%A8ge_Notre-Dame_de_la_Paix" class="extiw" title="w:Collège Notre-Dame de la Paix">Groot-Seminarie Notre-Dame</a> en heeft 14 registers en 850 buizen. Op 10 juni wordt het bespeeld door <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michel_Bouvard" class="extiw" title="w:Michel Bouvard">Michel Bouvard</a>, de co-titularis van het orgel in de kapel van het <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/kasteel_van_Versailles" class="extiw" title="w:kasteel van Versailles">kasteel van Versailles</a>.

<p>De Italiaanse hoofdstad bereidt zich voor om honderdduizenden mensen te ontvangen naar aanleiding van het naderende overlijden van de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/paus" class="extiw" title="w:paus">paus</a>.
</p><p>Op de internationale luchthaven Fiumicino zijn al honderden gelovigen aangekomen. <dl><dt>Derde hoogste man binnen Vaticaan officieel in staat van beschuldiging gesteld vanwege seksueel misbruik</dt></dl>
<p>Kardinaal <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Pell" class="extiw" title="w:George Pell">George Pell</a>, de op twee na hoogste functionaris binnen de Rooms-Katholieke Kerk en tevens de belangrijkste katholieke geestelijke in heel Australië, is officieel aangeklaagd vanwege seksueel misbruik. Hij is hiermee de hoogst geplaatste katholieke geestelijke ooit tot nu toe die hiervoor wordt vervolgd.
</p><p>Over de concrete gevallen waarvan Pell wordt beschuldigd zijn geen details publiekelijk vrijgegeven. Twee mannen beweren dat ze in de jaren zeventig in een zwembad door hem zijn misbruikt, in een tijd dat Pell priester was (bron: <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Associated_Press" class="extiw" title="w:Associated Press">AP</a>). De slachtoffers van destijds zijn nu ergens in de veertig.
</p><p>Pell is op dit moment in het Vaticaan, maar zal terugkeren naar Australië. Op 18 juli moet hij in <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne" class="extiw" title="w:Melbourne">Melbourne</a> voor het eerst voor de rechter komen. Zelf ontkent hij alle beschuldigingen en spreekt van een "genadeloze karaktermoord" tegen hem. Hij zei tevens dat hij uitkijkt naar de dag dat hij voor het gerecht moet verschijnen, zodat hij zijn onschuld kan bewijzen om daarna weer terug te keren naar Rome. Hij hoeft ondanks alle ophef op dit moment niet af te treden, wel wordt hij met verlof gestuurd. Het Vaticaan zegt hem zo in de gelegenheid te willen stellen om zich te verdedigen.

</p><p><b>VATICAANSTAD</b> - Sinds 10u30 deze ochtend is het <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_van_Kardinalen" class="extiw" title="w:College van Kardinalen">College van Kardinalen</a> bijeen gekomen in <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaticaanstad" class="extiw" title="w:Vaticaanstad">Vaticaanstad</a> om het verloop van de begrafenis van paus <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannes_Paulus_II" class="extiw" title="w:Johannes Paulus II">Johannes Paulus II</a> te bespreken. Nadien zullen zij ook beslissen wie de volgende paus wordt. Tot dan nemen zij het collectieve bestuur van de Kerk waar.
</p><p>In tegenstelling tot eerdere berichtgeving door de Italiaanse media zal de paus pas donderdag of vrijdag begraven worden. Vandaag zijn de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardinaal" class="extiw" title="w:Kardinaal">kardinalen</a> uit alle uithoeken van de wereld pas voor de eerste keer sinds zijn overleden bij mekaar gekomen. Nadat ze allen een eed van geheimhouding zwoeren begonnen de gesprekken over de begrafenisplechtigheid.
</p><p>De verkiezing van een nieuwe paus begint pas vanaf de zestiende dag na het overlijden. Alle kardinalen die nog geen tachtig zijn, zijn stemgerechtigd. Zij zullen in de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixtijnse_Kapel" class="extiw" title="w:Sixtijnse Kapel">Sixtijnse Kapel</a> hun stem uitbrengen.
