</p><p>Het <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Nationaal_Archief_Nederland" title="Categorie:Nationaal Archief Nederland">Nationaal Archief</a> houdt sinds gisteren, vrijdag 22 maart, een expositie van belangrijke documenten die de geschiedenis voor Nederland veranderden. Voorbeelden zijn het <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plakkaat_van_Verlatinghe" class="extiw" title="w:Plakkaat van Verlatinghe">Plakkaat van Verlatinghe</a> (1581) waarmee <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filips_II_van_Spanje" class="extiw" title="w:Filips II van Spanje">Filips II van Spanje</a> door een aantal provincies werd afgezet als heer van de Habsburgse Nederlanden, de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statenvertaling" class="extiw" title="w:Statenvertaling">Statenvertaling</a> (1630) van de bijbel met aantekeningen in het Nederlands, Latijn en Grieks, de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verdrag_van_Londen_(1839)" class="extiw" title="w:Verdrag van Londen (1839)">ondertekening van de afscheiding</a> van <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Belgi%C3%AB" title="Categorie:België">België</a> van <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Nederland" title="Categorie:Nederland">Nederland</a> (1839), de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surinaamse_onafhankelijkheid" class="extiw" title="w:Surinaamse onafhankelijkheid">erkenning van Suriname</a> (1975) en meer. Bij elkaar zijn het er vijftien.
</p><p>De documenten staan opgesteld voor het publiek. Het Nationaal Archief plaatst de documenten in perspectief, door er dieper op in te gaan en er videopresentaties bij te geven. De tentoonstelling werd donderdag officieel geopend door presentator en journalist <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jort_Kelder" class="extiw" title="w:Jort Kelder">Jort Kelder</a>.

</p><p>Iets minder na een week nadat afgelopen zaterdag de Pride-maand feestelijk werd afgesloten met een pride-mars, is de regenboog door onbekenden in de brand gestoken. Dat gebeurede op het terrein van de de politieke partij <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressieve_Arbeiders-_en_Landbouwers_Unie" class="extiw" title="w:Progressieve Arbeiders- en Landbouwers Unie">PALU</a>. Een vlag van PALU overkwam hetzelfde lot. De partij had de tientallen meters lange <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/regenboogvlag" class="extiw" title="w:regenboogvlag">regenboogvlag</a> gehesen ter ondersteuning van discussie over <a href="/wiki/Categorie:LGBTI" title="Categorie:LGBTI">LGBT</a> in Suriname. Tijdens de mars hing de vlag in het uitgaanscentrum, en langs de route hadden ook horeca, winkels en andere bedrijven de regenboogvlag opgehangen.
</p><p>PALU reageerde in een persbericht dat het in brand steken van de vlagen "duidelijk maakt dat er nog een lange weg is te gaan naar het bieden van gelijke kansen aan elke Surinamer in de Surinaamse samenleving ... Het gemak waarmee men zich al dan niet anoniem, tegen de LGBT gemeenschap uitlaat vooral op het internet legt de kwetsbaarheid van onze te recht zo zeer geprezen multi-culturele en multi-etnische samenleving bloot."

</p><p>Afgelopen zaterdag (27 oktober) werd in <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Brussel" title="Categorie:Brussel">Brussel</a> de 22e editie afgesloten van de 4-daagse conferentie van <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/ILGA-Europe" class="extiw" title="w:ILGA-Europe">ILGA-Europe</a> (International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association). Volgens de organisatie werd het evenement bezocht door meer dan 550 voorvechters van <a href="/wiki/Categorie:LGBTI" title="Categorie:LGBTI">LGBTI</a>-rechten. Het evenement werd voor het eerst in België gehouden. Drie organisaties waren betrokken bij de organisatie: <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%87avaria" class="extiw" title="w:Çavaria">Çavaria</a>, <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regenbooghuis_Brussel" class="extiw" title="w:Regenbooghuis Brussel">Regenbooghuis Brussel</a> en Regenbooghuis Wallonië (Arc-en-Ciel). Het thema van dit jaar was <i>Politiek voor Verandering</i>, waarmee de initiatiefnemers opriepen om "de kans aan te grijpen een luide kreet te maken naar politici, instituten, partners en verbondenen."
</p><p>Donderdag kondigde minister <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Alexander_De_Croo" title="Categorie:Alexander De Croo">Alexander De Croo</a> van Ontwikkelingssamenwerking aan 500.000 euro vrij te maken voor organisaties die zich richten op LGBTI-rechten. In zijn speech zei hij: "Ook in Europa is er nog steeds een kloof tussen de fundamentele rechten vastgelegd in wetten en de realiteit waarmee de LGBTI+ gemeenschap wordt geconfronteerd. LGBTI+ personen zijn nog te vaak het slachtoffer van discriminatie, hate speech en fysiek geweld. België is altijd één van de leidende landen geweest op het vlak van LGBTI+ rechten. We zullen die rol blijven opnemen, ook internationaal."
</p><p>Afgelopen vrijdag was het Intersex Awareness Day (<a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/en:Intersex_Awareness_Day" class="extiw" title="w:en:Intersex Awareness Day">en</a>). Yuri Guaiana, een Italiaans lid van de ILGA, zei in dit kader (vertaald): "Hoewel West-Europa een van de meest vooruitstrevende hoeken van de wereld is op het gebied van LGBTI-rechten, zijn er wel verschillende aspecten die steeds zorgelijker zijn, zoals genitale verminking van <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/intersekse" class="extiw" title="w:intersekse">intersekse</a>-kinderen ... We moeten investeren in de medische wereld en de publiek opinie. Door de lat hoog te blijven leggen kunnen we ons weren tegen de impact van de populistische golf van de opkomende generatie Europeanen."

</p><p>In het Caribische gebied is het aantal <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Aids" title="Categorie:Aids">hiv/aids</a>-besmettingen op dit moment zo hoog, dat er van een epidemie wordt gesproken. Na de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sub-Sahara" class="extiw" title="w:Sub-Sahara">Sub-Sahara</a> is hiv wereldwijd het meest verspreid in de Cariben. Naar schatting is hier 1 procent van alle volwassenen besmet met de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immuundefici%C3%ABntie" class="extiw" title="w:Immuundeficiëntie">immuniteitsziekte</a>. </p><p>De belangrijkste oorzaak voor hiv is hier door overdracht via geslachtsgemeenschap tussen mannen, transgenders en sekswerkers. Daarnaast spelen sociale omstandigheden en stigma's een rol waardoor de ziekte niet voorkomen of te laat ontdekt wordt, met daardoor een hoger risico op overdracht op de partners van dragers.
</p><p>Met de focus op Suriname en de Nederlandse Cariben hebben artsen een jaar geleden de Dutch Caribbean Association of Professionals in Hiv-care (DCAPH) opgericht. De organisatie houdt op 25 juli een miniconferentie in Amsterdam waar ongeveer vijftig professionals uit de Cariben worden verwacht. De conferentie zal voornamelijk in het teken staan van het uitwisselen van best practices en van gegevens die in het afgelopen decennium zijn verzameld door organisaties als Stichting Rode Kruis Bloedbank Curaçao, de GGD, andere organisaties en de Nederlandse en lokale overheden.
</p><p>Daarnaast zijn er internationaal nog een aantal andere initiatieven om de verspreiding van de ziekte te beperken. Onder meer is de Amerikaanse hulporganisatie <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Agency_for_International_Development" class="extiw" title="w:United States Agency for International Development">USAID</a> aanwezig in zes landen, waaronder in Suriname. Op 8 juni werd in de regio de National Caribbean-American HIV/AIDS Awareness Day 2018 gehouden om meer bewustzijn over de ziekte te kweken. Komende week vindt er een internationaal forum plaats in <a href="/wiki/Categorie:Jamaica" title="Categorie:Jamaica">Jamaica</a> om de verschillende initiatieven te vergelijken.

<p><b>Wereldwijde protestmars "Women's March 2017" gehouden</b>
</p><p>In verschillende steden wereldwijd zijn op 21 januari 2017 protestmarsen gehouden tegen de nieuwe Amerikaanse president <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/nlDonald_Trump" class="extiw" title="w:nlDonald Trump">Donald Trump</a>. De protesten zijn bekend als <i>Women's March 2017</i>. De deelnemers komen op voor onder meer vrouwenrechten en <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lgbt" class="extiw" title="w:Lgbt">Lgbt</a>-rechten. Ook protesteren ze tegen het <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Lives_Matter" class="extiw" title="w:Black Lives Matter">politiegeweld tegen Afro-Amerikanen</a>.
</p><p>De eerste geplande protestmars vond plaats in de Amerikaanse hoofdstad <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_D.C." class="extiw" title="w:Washington D.C.">Washington D.C.</a>. Uit solidariteit liepen er meer dan 1 miljoen betogers mee in meer dan 600 protestmarsen in verschillende steden wereldwijd.

<p>Aanleiding voor de protesten zijn de vrouwonvriendelijke en seksistische uitspraken die Trump deed voor en tijdens de presidentsverkiezingen, zoals "grab [women] by the pussy". Als protest daartegen droegen veel vrouwen een roze gebreide "pussy-hat", een hoed met de oren van een poes.

</p><p>Voor de 31e keer wordt <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roze_Zaterdag" class="extiw" title="w:Roze Zaterdag">Roze Zaterdag</a> in Nederland gehouden, het jaarlijks openlijk en landelijk treffen van de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holebi" class="extiw" title="w:Holebi">Holebi</a>-gemeenschap. <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiel" class="extiw" title="w:Tiel">Tiel</a> in <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelderland" class="extiw" title="w:Gelderland">Gelderland</a> is in 2008 de stad waar (tien)duizenden homo's, lesbo's, bi's en andere sympathisanten samenkomen voor ontmoeting, demonstratie, parade, debat en feesten - <sup id="cite_ref-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-1"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>1<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> <br />
(<i>N.B. kandidaat-steden voor 2008 waren: <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Den_Haag" class="extiw" title="w:Den Haag">Den Haag</a> (Z-H), <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leiden" class="extiw" title="w:Leiden">Leiden</a> (Z-H) en <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiel" class="extiw" title="w:Tiel">Tiel</a> (Gld.)</i>) <br />
</p><p>De organisatie is een activiteit van de Stichting Organisatie Evenementen Tiel en werkt nauw samen met Stichting Hart voor de Stad/Stadpromotie Tiel en heeft de benodigde vrijwilligers en partners/sponsors weten te werven in deze middelgrote Nederlandse gemeente in de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betuwe" class="extiw" title="w:Betuwe">Betuwe</a> zonder georganiseerde homo-gemeenschap. Er zal een optocht worden gehouden door deze van oorsprong <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanzestad" class="extiw" title="w:Hanzestad">Hanzestad</a> (waarbij invloeden van de fruitcorso's zoals die zo kenmerkend zijn voor de streek van de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betuwe" class="extiw" title="w:Betuwe">Betuwe</a> in de parade en natuurlijk <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flipje" class="extiw" title="w:Flipje">Flipje</a> als mascotte). Voorts een manifestatie- en artiestenprogramma met 40-tal optredens op diverse podia in de stad, informatiemarkt, gezondheidsplein. De officiële opening wordt verricht door <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_de_Vreeze" class="extiw" title="w:Steven de Vreeze">Steven de Vreeze</a> (<a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/PvdA" class="extiw" title="w:PvdA">PvdA</a>), burgemeester van <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiel" class="extiw" title="w:Tiel">Tiel</a> en Jan Roos, een van de initiatiefnemers en voorzitter van Roze Zaterdag Tiel 2008. <br />
</p><p>Aanwezig is onder meer de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/ministerie_van_Onderwijs,_Cultuur_en_Wetenschap" class="extiw" title="w:ministerie van Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap">minister van Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap</a> <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Plasterk" class="extiw" title="w:Ronald Plasterk">Ronald Plasterk</a> (<a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/PvdA" class="extiw" title="w:PvdA">PvdA</a>), tevens coördinerend bewindspersoon voor <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homoseksualiteit" class="extiw" title="w:Homoseksualiteit">Homo</a>-<a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/emancipatie" class="extiw" title="w:emancipatie">emancipatie</a> aanwezig zijn. Hij zal in de tweede helft van de middag alle aanwezigen toespreken.
</p><p>Deze laatste zaterdag van juni is ook de herdenking van de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall-rellen" class="extiw" title="w:Stonewall-rellen">Stonewall-rellen</a> naar aanleiding van het optreden tegen homo's in 1969 van de <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City" class="extiw" title="w:New York City">New Yorkse</a> politie in Christopher Street (<a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/en:Christopher_Street_(Manhattan)" class="extiw" title="w:en:Christopher Street (Manhattan)">en</a>), waar in andere landen <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_Pride" class="extiw" title="w:Gay Pride">Gay Pride</a> of <a href="https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Street_Day" class="extiw" title="w:Christopher Street Day">Christopher Street (Liberation) Day</a> (CSD) hun namen aan ontlenen danwel equivalenten van 'Roze Zaterdag' zijn.
